3 cruise ships to call in Tallinn this week

Tallinn’s Old City Harbor is to host three cruise ships this week.

The first to arrive on Saturday morning is the 270-meter-long Aurora, sailing under the Bermuda flag. It is on a two-week round trip starting and ending in Southampton. After visiting Tallinn, Aurora will head to Klaipeda via Gotland. The ship’s godmother is Princess Anne of the British royal family. Aurora will return to the Old City Harbor on Sept. 2. At its maximum speed of 24 knots, or 44 kilometers per hour, Aurora consumes 300 liters of fuel per nautical mile.

The second arrival on Saturday is the 316-meter-long Mein Schiff 1 from Kiel, visiting the Old City Harbor seven times this season. Sailing under the Maltese flag, it is on a week-long trip starting and ending in Kiel. On Saturday evening, the ship will head to Helsinki, making stops in Stockholm and Gotland before returning to Kiel. Mein Schiff 1 will visit the Old City Harbor again on June 9.

On Sunday, the third ship to arrive is the 100-meter-long Clio from Riga, which will stay overnight in the Old City Harbor and depart for Helsinki on Monday afternoon. Also sailing under the Maltese flag, Clio will visit Estonia eight times this cruise season, returning to the Old City Harbor on May 30.
