The project will be carried out according to the design – build in two stages: during the first stage, the building’s energy efficiency will be improved, while the second stage will see reconstruction of the edifice, changes to the wiring system, provision of environmental accessibility, and others.

In total, around EUR 14.5 million, including value added tax, will be invested in reconstruction of the Great Guild Hall, which the Culture Ministry has secured from the Recovery and Resilience Facility.

Taking into account the cultural and historical status of the building and in order to preserve its cultural heritage and architectural value, there are a number of special requirements for the reconstruction project, which is why the project will be carried out in close cooperation with the Latvian National Cultural Heritage Board, said Gavrilova.
