Tickets go on sale next week for the 2025 Eurobasket tournament in Riga

Tickets for the 2025 European Basketball Championships (Eurobasket 2025) matches in Riga will go on sale next Tuesday, the Latvian Basketball Association (LBS) informs.

On August 27, tickets will go on sale in all four host countries – Latvia, Cyprus, Finland and Poland.

In Latvia, a limited number of “Follow Latvia” ticket packages will be available in different price categories in the first round, which will provide the opportunity to see all five matches in the group stage.

“The opportunity to host the European Championships is a reward for the Latvian basketball community, which has nurtured basketball traditions for years, ensuring continuity and involving new generations. It is a prize for Latvian fans who have managed to organize celebrations in Istanbul, Jakarta and Manila, earning the right to enjoy them at home,” said LBS President Raimonds Vejonis.

LBS General Secretary Kaspars Cipruss stressed that hosting major tournaments also brings economic benefits to the host country.

“Both Latvian and international studies clearly confirm that major sports competitions in cities and countries with developed infrastructure not only bring emotions, but are also economically beneficial,” said Cipruss.

“In 2015, after the European Championship group tournament, both Riga and Latvia’s budgets were in the plus, while the money earned by LBS enabled to install basketball hoops in about 40 municipalities, supply sports schools with the necessary equipment for hosting youth league games, as well as became a solid foundation on which basketball gyms have now been built. I hope that the 2025 European Championships will also contribute to the long-term development of Latvian basketball,” he continued.

The 2025 European Basketball Championships will take place from August 27 to September 14, 2025 and will feature 24 teams, which will be divided into four groups of six in the group phase. One group tournament each will be held in Riga, Limassol (Cyprus), Tampere (Finland) and Katowice (Poland).

The top four teams in each group will qualify for the knockout tournament in Riga, where four rounds will be played – the eighth-finals, quarter-finals, semi-finals and the final matches for third place and first place.
