Latvian television company signs agreement with Lithuanian, Italian firms

Latvian Public Television (LTV) has signed contracts with companies in Lithuania and Italy which won an open bid for tenders on the delivery of two mobile television stations that are scheduled to be delivered in 2025, the LETA News Agency was told by LTV’s director for marketing and communications, Anita Jansone.

Two companies took part in the tender.  LTV awarded the first contract to TVC Solutions UAB in Lithuania for the supply of an eight-camera mobile TV station.  The second contract went to Aret Video and Audio Engineering S.r.l. for the supply of a 14-camera mobile station from Italy.

According to information from the Latvian Electronic Procurement System, the Lithuanian company will be paid EUR 3,218,512, while the Italian firm will receive EUR 4,803,000.

As reported in the past, the procurement process was delayed by appeals of decisions.  Now that the contracts have bee signed, the next step will be to develop the functional designs of the two mobile TV stations, integration of four vehicles, and dealing with equipment and software issues.  The plan is to ensure that over the next 14 months, both mobile TV stations will be manufactured, tested and delivered to Latvia, says LTV board member Gints Mikelsons.

The mobile stations will operate as stand-alone technology units or be linked to studios at LTV itself so as to provide for major audiovisual recordings and broadcasting of events of public importance.

LTV adds that the new equipment is needed because its existing mobile TV equipment is out of date.
