Almost 40% of young people do not continue their studies after secondary school

Last year 36.9 percent of secondary school graduates did not continue their studies, according to data from the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB).

The majority, or 60 percent, of secondary school graduates enrolled in a university or college, while 3.1 percent continued their studies in vocational education institutions.

Last year, 10,300 young people graduated from secondary school.

The number of secondary school graduates has decreased by almost 9,000 young people in the last 13 years.

The number of primary school graduates has fallen by 2,200 over the last 13 years. Last year, 20,100 pupils completed Grade 9.
