Deep Tech Atelier 2024 will take place on May 16th and 17th in Riga

According to the latest “Latvian Productivity Report” data, in 2022, Latvia’s productivity level at actual prices was only 59.5% of the EU average, one of the lowest indicators in the EU. Latvia significantly lags behind highly developed EU countries in the quality of production resources (human and capital), digitalization, innovation, and the application of new technologies.

One solution to increasing productivity is cooperation between entrepreneurs and scientists, as well as investments in knowledge-intensive companies and industries. “Deep Tech Atelier 2024” is the most significant conference in the Baltics for science-intensive technology industries, bringing together all ecosystem participants: research organizations, industry experts, scientific startups, representatives of state administration, technology enthusiasts, and more. Thus, “Deep Tech Atelier 2024” is an innovative platform where combining the best human experience and the wide opportunities of technology can promote Latvia’s productivity.

“Deep Tech Atelier 2024” will take place on May 16th, 2024, from 10:00 to 19:00 and on May 17th, 2024, from 9:00 to 19:00 at the conference center “Fantadroms”, 76 Gustava Zemgala Street, Riga, Latvia (working language English).

The event will cover various topics. The participant program includes conference sessions on three stages:

• Deep Tech Stage, dedicated to funding and industry policy issues, support instruments, best practice examples, startup pitches, and reverse pitches by investors;
• BioCosmic Stage, hosting the European Space Agency (ESA) Day on May 16th, highlighting content dedicated to space technology, and on May 17th, focusing on progressive biotechnology;
• Growth Stage, featuring success stories and support opportunities offered by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism on May 16th, while on May 17th, Labs of Latvia will address science communication issues.

The conference will be opened by high-level government officials – Prime Minister Evika Siliņa, Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Economy Jurģis Miezainis, and Acting Director of LIAA Iveta Strupkāja.

The conference content is developed in collaboration with the Commercialization Reactor, RTU Science and Innovation Center, Latvian Space Industry Association, and Biocatalyst Foundation.
