The Europol agency has added 24 individuals to its Most Wanted list in connection with serious crimes that have been committed, and Postimees has reported that two Estonians are on the list.
Mihkel Veskus is sought for the illicit trafficking of narcotics and psychotropic substances and for failing to appear in court for an initial hearing. Margus Nomm, for his part, is accused of sexual exploitation of children and child pornography.
Europol has warned that individuals on the list may be at large and pose danger to others.
“If you recognise someone from the list, do not approach them,” Europol has said in a news release. “Inform us through the profile pages of the fugitives, with all of the profiles marked in red. We will accept anonymous tips, as well.”
Europol has published the profiles of 454 wanted persons. 164 of these have been captured and in 53 cases, the arrests were directly linked to information on the platform.
All information is forwarded to the European Network on Fugitive Active Search Teams (ENFAST), which operates on a 24/7 basis and is prepared to locate fugitives as quickly as possible.
“More than 20 criminals have just been added to the list,” Europol added. “This year’s catchphrase is ‘blood on their hands.’ Our aim is to increase public awareness of dangerous fugitives who are wanted for serious crimes such as murder.”
