The town of Trakai is hosting on Wednesday a meeting of Lithuanian, Latvian, Estonian, Swedish, Danish and Finnish agriculture ministers and other high-level officials.
“The aim of the meeting is to strengthen the Nordic-Baltic countries’ position in EU institutions, because only by joining forces can we effectively address the challenges of our region,” Lithuanian Agriculture Minister Kestutis Navickas has said.
The officials are expected to discuss the implementation of strategic plans for agriculture and rural development, climate change measures and future plans for the European Commission’s proposal on the sustainable use of pesticides.
