SBA Home, which is part of Lithuania’s SBA Group, is planning to launch the manufacturing of storage furniture in the United States by the end of 2025, preparing to invest USD 70 million (EUR 68 million) into a factory in Davie County, North Carolina, the company has announced.
CEO Jurgita Radzevice says North Carolina was chosen because of a convenient logistics infrastructure and the nearby supply of raw material suppliers.
“We expect SBA to created more than 250 jobs for highly skilled workers, thus offering a positive boost to the region,” says Radzevice. “We’re about to start adaptation of a building with 46,000 m2 of floorspace for our needs.”
SBA Group operates five furniture factories and a logistics centre in Lithuania, and it has already established its legal presence in North Carolina, registering SBA Home North Carolina and SBA Home South Carolina as trademarks. The factory building is being converted into a manufacturing facility, including the installation of equipment that is being shipped from Germany.
SBA Group sells most of its output to the Swedish furniture retailer IKEA.
