Moldova can count on Latvia’s political and practical support, President Edgars Rinkevics said during his working visit to Moldova on Tuesday.
The president reiterated Latvia’s support for Moldova’s integration with the European Union (EU).
During their working visit, the presidents of Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania signed a joint declaration in support of Moldova’s accession to the EU.
As reported earlier, in June EU member states formally confirmed that negotiations with Moldova on its accession to the bloc would start.
Moldova formally applied for membership of the EU in March 2022.
EU leaders formally recognized Moldova as a candidate state in June 2023.
