The Tallinn bus station suffered a power outage on Thursday, and in addition, the key transport hub received a bomb threat early in the morning, Postimees reported.
Airika Aruksaar, CEO of the company T Grupp that manages the bus station, said the bomb threat received early in the morning was similar to the threats received by many Estonian schools and other institutions.
“It was very early in the morning, when there were no people inside the building. The police arrived and checked the premises,” Aruksaar said.
She said the power outage is being dealt with.
“After all, the doors of the bus station are all powered by electricity. They were opened by force, people can walk in and out. We hope that Eesti Energia will react promptly,” the CEO of the company managing the bus station said.
There is currently no ticket sales or other services in the bus station building, but tickets can be purchased from bus drivers.
“Even when the cash register system is down, tickets can be bought from the bus drivers. There may have been uncomfortable moments at the moment when power disappeared, but our people reacted very quickly and now bus services should be functioning,” Aruksaar added.
Postimees has learned that also the traffic lights at the intersections near the bus station are not working at the moment.
