Season’s 1st 2 cruise ships to visit Estonia this week

Two cruise ships, the Bahamas-flagged cruise ship Borealis and the Le Bellot, which is sailing under the flag of the Pacific microstate of Wallis and Futuna, will berth in Tallinn’s Old City Harbor this week, thus kicking off this year’s cruise season.

Borealis will arrive in Tallinn on Thursday morning, while Le Bellot will reach Tallinn on Sunday morning.

Built in Italy in 1997 for 400 million US dollars, Borealis has ten decks and 690 cabins. After completion, the ship was decorated with more than two million dollars worth of fine art antiques. The ship’s godmother is Princess Margriet of the Netherlands, who was born in Ottawa. The vessel was named Rotterdam until 2020, when Fred Olsen Cruises bought her.

Borealis will arrive in the Old City Harbor from Stockholm and head to Helsinki after the visit to Tallinn. On the return voyage to Southampton, the vessel will call in the Finnish city of Turku and Copenhagen in Denmark. This is the first and the last time for Borealis to call in Estonia this season.

The 131-meter-long Le Bellot has seven decks and 92 cabins. This is also the first and the last time for Le Bellot to call in Estonia this season.
