The largest solar park in the Baltic States will be opened on October 3 in the village of Kirikuküla in the Lääneranna rural municipality in Pärnu county.
The Kirkimäe solar park is a joint undertaking between the Evecon company in Estonia and the Mirova investment fund. It is to have a production capacity of 77.5 megawatts.
The park has 117,600 solar panels on nearly 110 hectares of land. It produces enough power for the annual needs of 35,000 households.
The opening ceremony will be attended by Estonia’s climate minister, Yoko Alender, as well as by others.
