Bolt launches parcel delivery service in Estonia

Bolt on Friday launched a same-day parcel delivery service, called Bolt Delivery, in Tallinn.

Using the Bolt app, customers can now send found items, gifts and small parcels quickly to the recipient. Customers can access the service by selecting “Delivery” from the categories of ride sharing services on the Bolt app.

“With the Bolt Delivery parcel delivery service, we are taking another step towards our mission by making it easier than ever for our customers to quickly send and receive parcels using the Bolt app. For example, during the busy Christmas season, you can send gifts to those you cannot visit yourself. We also see the category as having great potential among businesses,” Oscar Room, head of the ride sharing service at Bolt, said.

Sending a package using the Bolt app is similar to ride sharing, where the sender places an order showing the pickup location and the destination, agrees to the price, and gives the driver the package to deliver to the destination. Customers can see the estimated price before the package is sent and track its journey in real time. Eligible for forwarding by Bolt Delivery are items with a value of up to 150 euros and a weight of up to 15 kilograms, with the exception of prohibited items.

Bolt Delivery can be ordered by both the sender and the recipient. Prices for the Delivery category are identical to Bolt category prices. The service is currently only available in Tallinn, but there are plans to expand it to other cities of Estonia.

In total, Bolt’s services are used by more than 100 million customers in 45 countries in Europe and Africa.
