Government extends participation of border guard and police officer in EU mission in Georgia

The government on Tuesday approved the extension of the mandates of a border guard and a police officer participating in the EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia until August 2024.

Latvia continues to support international efforts to strengthen security and promote stability by participating in UN, EU, OSCE and NATO missions and operations. Up to 30 civilian experts are appointed each year to participate in international missions.

Currently, 17 Latvian civilian experts are participating in the EU’s multinational civilian missions, including 12 in the EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia, 4 in the EU Advisory Mission in Ukraine and 1 in the EU Mission in Armenia.
