Swedbank and SEB, two of Lithuania’s largest commercial banks, have paid 52.5 million and 34.1 million euros respectively the bank solidarity levy to the state budget, the two banks said after the deadline the second installment of the levy expired on Thursday.
This was confirmed to BNS by Daiva Tauckelaite, PR officer at Swedbank Lithuania, and Leontina Zabarauskiene, communication project manager at SEB.
The payments were made for the third quarter of this year. For the second quarter, the two banks paid 28 million and 16.5 million euros respectively in August.
The State Tax Inspectorate told BNS on Friday that 11 Lithuanian commercial banks and credit unions had paid 103.7 million euros in the bank solidarity levy.
Siauliu Bankas paid more than 2.6 million euros and Luminor paid 12.5 euros.
The second installment had to be paid by the end of November 30.
The money will be used fora military mobility and dual-use transport infrastructure.
